About Me
I'm Sean Franklin Boyd — a director and cinematographer with over a decade of experience shaping stories through bold, visually driven filmmaking. From music videos and commercials to narrative films and series, my work spans genres and formats, always anchored by a commitment to striking, cinematic imagery.
My love for film began early. While other kids were out playing sports, I was at home watching movies with my dad — learning the rhythm of storytelling, shot by shot. Film became a cathartic space for me, a place to feel, explore, and imagine. My mother, always supportive of my creative interests, encouraged me to pursue the arts, whether I was sketching in notebooks or learning guitar riffs in my room. That blend of visual and musical curiosity has never left me — it’s become the foundation of how I see and create.
As a director, I bring a bold and distinctive visual language to my work. I’m drawn to contrast, texture, and mood — tools that help me craft emotionally resonant and visually arresting stories. My style leans into imagery that is not only beautiful but purposeful — the kind that stays with you long after the frame fades.
I also thrive on collaboration. Whether I’m working closely with talent, guiding a crew, or aligning with creative directors, I approach every project as a shared vision. I believe great filmmaking comes from trust, communication, and a willingness to push each other creatively.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to shoot and create for clients and collaborators such as NBA star Russell Westbrook, designer Asher Levine (known for his work with Lady Gaga), Tumblr, Square, and members of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever team. These experiences have shaped not only my eye, but also my voice as a filmmaker.
My mission is simple: to bring bold ideas to life — with clarity, with emotion, and with impact.
